The third crop of Kiko Spanish cross kids will start to arrive in the next three weeks. We are excited about the cross. The kids are tough and hardy. They hit the ground running and act more like deer than goats.
It is amazing to watch them run, jump, and climb from day one. The stamina level is high - by two days they keep up with their mothers going everywhere in short sprints. They buck and jump into the air twisting in all sorts of positions. And eat like calves, butting the does hard in the utter several times before taking a drink.
We recently worked all our does. The Kiko Spanish yearlings from last Spring had the pink eyes we like to see. An indication the parasite levels are low. It is a good sign considering the winter we experienced and most are pregnant.
